Inaugural PCLI Spotlight Award will be presented to the Robert W. Greene Summer Institute for High School Journalists

The Press Club of Long Island is pleased to announce a new award, the PCLI Spotlight Award, which illuminates work impacting the vitality and longevity of the Long Island journalism community. The inaugural award recognizes the Robert W. Greene Summer Institute for High School Journalists.
Established in 2009, this program welcomes budding student reporters to Stony Brook University for a weeklong intensive inspired by the legacy of Bob Greene. The late journalist and editor led Newsday's investigative team to Pulitzers in 1970 and 1974 and went on to teach at Stony Brook and Hofstra University. Alumni of the Greene Institute have gone on to meaningful careers at news outlets like CBS News and its affiliates, Newsday, the Council on Foreign Affairs, Newsweek, The Suffolk Times and The Southampton Press.
The Greene Team, as it's affectionately known at Stony Brook, includes:
