The Press Club of Long Island Board of Directors has selected Jennifer McLogan, Jim Klurfeld, Jack Graves and, posthumously, Pat Cowles, to be the 2024 class of the Long Island Journalism Hall of Fame.
The inductions will take place during the PCLI Media Awards Banquet and 50th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, June 13, at Fox Hollow in Woodbury. Tickets, tables and journal ads are on sale now.
Jennifer McLogan is a Long Island reporter for WCBS-TV in New York, where she has worked for three decades. She previously worked for WBBM-TV in Chicago and as a correspondent for NBC News.
Jim Klurfeld worked at Newsday for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2007 as vice president and editor of the editorial pages. Also during his tenure with Newsday, he led the paper's Albany and Washington bureaus. He taught at the Stony Brook University School of Communication and Journalism as a visiting professor.
Jack Graves has been a sports writer, reporter and columnist for 56 years at The East Hampton Star, where, at the age of 83, he continues to work. A selection of the more than 2,800 columns he has written over his career was collected in the book "Essays From Eden."
The late Pat Cowles (1937-2019) was the longtime owner of The Three Village Herald and also a past owner of The Sag Harbor Express, The Riverhead News-Review and The Shelter Island Reporter.
